  • Linking the university’s top-notch technologies with companies in need of them for commercialization
  • Providing support for timely transfer of technologies to industry

Effective management of inventions through recognizing and promoting inventions from research activities conducted by the university’s researchers, e.g., faculty and students, as the university’s intellectual property as well as protecting related rights. Furthermore, discovering and securing the rights to top-notch technologies and proactively implementing commercialization of them through prompt transfer of technologies to industries and technology buyers while leading the advancement of the university Ed. Highlight-Clarification needed. Leading the advancement of the university’s technology or prestige and playing a pivotal role in the local technological network by enhancing technical competitiveness of companies, as well as building a close network among industry, academia, and research institutes.

※ Technology Transfer

It refers to transferring technology including intellectual property technologies, e.g., patents, practical drafts, designs, and capital goods with accumulated semiconductor layout design technology, and software, and other technologies, e.g., technical information, from the technology holders (including those with rights to dispose of the technology) to others through a method such as transfer, granting a license, or technical guidance.

  • Providing management, legal, and technical expertise through services of affiliated agencies
  • Contracting and consultation with companies
  • Establishing a standard contract form in technology transfer
Technology Marketing and Consulting
  • Technology expos and info sessions
  • On-line and off-line marketing on the technology to transfer
  • Marketing using the database network of collaborating agencies on technology supply and demand
  • Technical consultation on issues and difficulties that companies encounter during technology development
  • Brokerage of corporate research commissions on the technology of interest and additional research on technologies developed by the university
Follow-up Management
  • Patent maintenance and management following technology transfer
  • Link technology transfer companies to government funding and investors
  • Ongoing monitoring on items on agreement and technical guidance
  • Start-up support for top-notch technologies through programs by the university’s incubation center
